Staff Highlight - Will Lampe
In this age of remote work and digital collaboration, it’s easy to forget about the team behind the screen. For those who have wondered just who the VertueNauts working diligently to further VertueLab’s mission are, we’re starting a new series to shine a spotlight on the amazing folks on our team.
We’re kicking things off with our Donor & Investor Engagement Manager, Will Lampe. Will is VertueLab’s newest employee, bringing over 7 years of experience in mission driven fundraising.

VL: What was most exciting to you about joining VertueLab?
Will: I think VertueLab is doing such forward thinking work. Lots of Climate focused messaging is doom and gloom, but VertueLab looks at where we are at and sees an opportunity. It’s just a fact that we need cleaner, cheaper, and more profitable ways to produce energy, VertueLab is funding and supporting the entrepreneurs that will do just that. I’m so excited to be part of their mission and support the people supporting the planet.
Why do you think climate tech and what we do is important?
I am native Kentuckian. Most of us in the state know both the damages of coal, and spend a lot of time grappling with our inability to let go of fossil fuels. I truly believe that to create a just transition, creating products that are cleaner, more profitable to use, and that work for everyone is the only way forward.
Why are you passionate about individual giving/investing?
I love building relationships with donors. Each person brings a unique story to why they give and I like tailoring their experience to what works best for them. I love creating a donation plan that works for them and showing tangible ways they let us do our work. On the investing side, I think there’s no better bet than clean energy! Climate change isn’t something that will happen, it’s something that’s happening now. As it becomes more and more obvious we need change, I think it’s a fair bet change will come. The companies we are investing in will be on the forefront of that change.
Tell us a little about who you are outside of VertueLab.
I am a comedy nerd. If anyone would like to talk to me about Conan O Brien clips or SNL Sketches I am open to it. I also perform and write stand up comedy from time to time so if you like jokes or are interested in clean tech, please reach out!
